Restarting Blog focus

Mood:

A birthday seems an appropriate time to make a new start on this whole blogging/journaling thing. While this blog sat unattended for several weeks/months I was reflecting on how poorly I managed to do the same thing as a teenager. I was so intermittent with my teenage diary entries. I bought new diaries every year and I really wanted to record idea and activities, so the will was there. What kind of habits of mind have I still not acquired that I have done the same things here? Maybe blogging is not for everyone? Maybe I don't lead an interesting enough life to make it part of the virtual world? Maybe But here I go again opening the diary and making my best effort (fingers crossed and advice welcomed).

Hi, Bronwyn! I came across your blog during a search for conferences re CoPs that I might attend before the end of the academic year--I have to submit proposals for travel. Anyway, ran across your blog and read your comments about journaling. I was writing about this very thing last night--in the journal I have to keep for a course in online teaching and learning. I, too, have been very inconsistent about keeping a journal my entire life. And I'm a writer--I love to write, but somehow I got out of the habit or felt like my thoughts were trivial. Being "forced" into journaling has got me in the habit now. Hope I can keep it up after I'm done with the program! On another note, if you know of any U.S.-based conferences I might look at, please let me know.:) Abbe
